Présentation

Sir Peter Cook, founder of Archigram, former Director the Institute for Contemporary Art, London (the ICA) and Bartlett School of Architecture at University College, London has been a pivotal figure within the global architectural world for over half a century.

Peter and Gavin Robotham form the creative nexus of CrabStudio, an architecture office where no configuration, combination of techniques or materials is creatively rejected without investigation.
The CrabStudio team pursues all kinds of design challenges ; from furniture and pack-up-and-go inflatables, to peripatetic bridge-top cafés, theatres , urban landscape schemes, parks and university faculties.
The office continues to produce complex and innovative structures, buildings and landscapes at a variety of scales. Currently, in addition to prototyping a new range of furniture and engaging in a number of experimental research projects CrabStudio is delivering a new faculty of 21,000 square metres for Vienna’s Economics and Business University.
All these proposals, as well as the office’s exhibitions, moderately scaled pavilions, bridges, kiosks and smaller experimental projects are treated equally as op¬portunities to explore alternatives to the architecture of polite modernism with which everyone is familiar.
